95 Points James Halliday
Dense purple-red; extremely rich, ripe and concentrated mulberry and spice fruit is supported by toasty vanillin oak. The palate is every bit as concentrated and chewy as the bouquet suggests it will be, with abundant spicy berry fruit and even more abundant oak. Retasted October 1997 and developing exceptionally well, losing brashness and gaining elegance. Drink to 2024.
