88 Points James Halliday
Medium red, with some purple, and not 100 per cent bright; the savoury, earthy, blackberry fruit with well-integrated oak on the bouquet is followed by a savoury, reserved palate which doesn't have the ripe berry fruit of many '98s, but is well constructed, and will have particular appeal to those who don't like what they call 'lollipop' wines. Drink to 2010.
