Black-purple colour, the bouquet is showing red and black cherry, sandalwood and freshly-fallen leaves. A big wine, full of power and concentration, flavours of chocolate, berries and bay leaf. Full-bodied, oozing with tannin and a rich, ripe finish.

Destemmed and partially crushed, matured in barrel for 10 months, 56% new French, 44% American. Full-bodied, and needing more time for the oak to stop impeding the rich flavours of the plum and blackberry fruits. The requisite balance is there. Drink to 2038.

Matured in mix of French and American oak, 64% new. The ultimate Bethany shiraz expression. And with that comes typically a step up in oak use and influence. Old-school, big-boned shiraz in that sense, so you might have to wait a few years for the rich plum flavours to surface through the oak. But it is already beginning this journey, and there's lots to look forward to, if this is your shiraz jam. Drink to 2033.
