Medium to full red colour with a purple trace; the bouquet meaty but shy, with some reductive and smoky-oak notes. The palate is lean and somewhat sinewy but intense, focused, with a lot of tension, and a 'cold' mouth-feel - it seems to lack fruit-sweetness. The structure is tight and firm, without being at all tannic. Finesse and length here. (The Jimmy Watson Trophy winner)
