Deep, rich red colour with a good tint of purple. The bouquet is very rich and super-ripe, blackberry, plum and fruitcake, chocolate and raspberry jam, with some overripe overtones. A bigger style. The tannins are chewy and drying but not seriously out of kilter with the rest of the wine. Some alcohol heat on the aftertaste. A whopper, with no pretensions to elegance. (2084 bottles produced)
