Huon Hooke
Deep, dark red colour with a touch of development. Toasty, smoky, cedary, oak-driven bouquet. Soft, savoury palate with a whack of tannin and fairly high alcohol resulting in a rather syrupy, soupy kind of palate. Lacks elegance. Big, brawny wine. Acidity is in balance. Undoubtedly has concentration, but not much charm. Perhaps it will when it's mature.
