90 Points Robert Parker
The 2009 Pirathon Shiraz possesses a very deep garnet-purple color and seriously intense aromas of freshly crushed blackberries, black currant, dark chocolate, spice box, vanilla and a whiff of loam. Rich, crisp and giving tons of flavor, this wine is well textured with a medium level of grainy tannins and its finish is long and layered. Drinking now, it should continue to be delicious to 2016.
