Medium-deep red-purple colour, the bouquet toasty, smoky, cedary and dry-spiced, oak tinged. There is intense blackberry flavour backed by trim but firm tannins that provide elegance as well as structure. Refined texture and seamless line, the finish powering long and satisfying. There is richness and density too. A marvellous balancing act: it has a lightness of being at the same time as power and intensity. A superb wine with a big future.
