Very deep and dense in purplish colour, this old-vine wine has an admirably traditional nose, with blackberry and dried currant aromas woven through with threads of vanilla, earth and caramel. It's well concentrated in the mouth with plenty of ripe flavour, dense texture and a solid foundation of fine, sandy tannins. It should live and improve for many years. A wine with a slightly old-fashioned feel, but what's wrong with that?
