Huon Hooke
Deep red/purple colour, with a smoky reductive overtone to its charcuterie-like bouquet. The wine is full-bodied and chocolaty with graphite and earthy minerally nuances. It has intensity, concentration, drive and penetrating flavour. The reduction is a slight concern.

Stunning release. Firm, powerful, tannic and long. Spice notes aplenty, a roar of ripe cherry-plum fruit, graphite and wood smoke notes, a veneer of vanilla. There's no mucking about here; this announces itself from the outset and maintains commanding control throughout. Drink to 2042.
