Medium red-purple; a firm and complex bouquet with savoury/spicy overtones to the black berry fruit. The palate has good structure, depth and length, featuring black fruits, chocolate and some vanilla from the oak. Drink to 2013.

The E&E Black Pepper Shiraz, originally conceived by renowned winemaker Colin Glaetzer, is considered a benchmark Barossa Shiraz, reflecting the richness, flavour, balance and structure of the super premium Barossa shirazes. Only made from the best fruit of the vintage, the E&E Black Pepper Shiraz is sourced from very low yielding, dry grown vineyards in the Barossa, ranging from 30 to 100-year-old vines and averaging about 60 years.
"Beautifully expressive, this is a wine of many layers that interweave intriguingly as they play out their cherry and raspberry fruit against exotic spice and minty, earthy nuances. Impressive for its harmony and supple structure. This is just coming together, but it feels like it has many years ahead of it.--Australian reds blind retrospective. 2,500 cases made." –Harvey Steiman
