96 Points James Halliday
Strong red-purple; a fragrant bouquet with the first signs of that earthy character, which is the hallmark of Coonawarra Cabernet starting to appear. A powerful mature palate, arguably the most classic for many years. There is layer-upon-layer of fruit flavour perfectly matched by vanillin oak, and supported by long, lingering tannins. A multiple trophy and gold medal winner at major Australian wine shows. Retasted October 1997; similar notes. Drink to 2011.
