Huon Hooke
Slightly more developed colour than the wines around it, with a lighter hue (deep all the same) and a definite brick rim. There are attractive semi-aged aromas, this time laced with herbal notes, which have been less evident in the 1990s wines. Soft but drying tannins, with the flavour lacking the charm and concentration of the best years.

Medium to full red-purple; there is a classic mix of cassis, olive/herb and earth on the strong bouquet, with just a hint of oak. The palate is complex, with strong varietal character (olive and cassis) and exhibiting quite pronounced tannins which build on the second half of the palate. Gentle oak throughout. Drink to 2015.
