Huon Hooke
The bouquet gives it away as a JR of this era: it’s oaky and slightly minty, while the palate has rather aggressive tannins, although it's undoubtedly concentrated and long in the mouth. But it's ultimately not an elegant wine, a bit of an Ocker. It is, however, still ascending: intense, deep, lively, concentrated and persistent.

Wow... A great wine from a great year. The complexity, balance and power of a classic... Brilliant, youthful nose... This wine can easily hold its own on the world stage but still exudes classic Coonawarra cigar box, chocolate and mint. 45 second finish. An absolute pleasure. Drink Now
