Huon Hooke
Medium to full red/brick colour. The aroma is red plum with slight stewed aspects. Meaty, slightly animal aroma on the nose, with some eucalyptus and mint notes. Very mellow and mature, but the tannins are still there and firmer than need be. There's a hint of greenness in the tannins - and the aromas.

Very clear-cut varietal aromas and fruit flavours; relatively light-bodied, but elegant; spicy cherry fruit and fine tannins. Drink to 2009.
