Huon Hooke
Deep purple red; nutmeg spice, some dried banana; oak is apparent. Sweet elegant fruit-juicy flavour; wonderful smooth balance and succulent sweet-berry flavours. A charmer. Lovely wine, now and for 22+ years.

93 Points Robert Parker
The 2004 Shiraz “Magill Estate” is a single vineyard offering which spent 13 months in French and American oak, 90% new. It delivers a splendid nose of smoke, pencil lead, violets, blueberry, and blackberry. Supple textured and seamless, it has loads of flavor, terrific depth, and a long, pure finish. Allow 3-4 years for the wine to unfold and drink it through 2024.

94 Points James Halliday
Intense, tight and firm; high-quality blackberry fruit; balanced tannins and oak; the best potential since '02; has more structure than normal. Drink to 2025.
