Huon Hooke
Dense, deep red, slight purple. Shy aroma, some Bordelais-style oak and savoury aromas; long time in barrel, perhaps. Blackcurrant cabernet fruit, too. Seems ripe and balanced, no greenness. Fullish cedary palate, loaded with savoury flavour and tannins. Some elegance and balance. Good concentration. Fine tannins and texture.

Blackcurrant and dark chocolate aromas are joined by slightly more savoury/earthy notes on the palate, with some sweet oak inputs on the finish. Drink to 2014.
