Huon Hooke
Medium-full red-purple. Subtle nose: some mint and crushed-leaf herbiness, dark fruits also. Tannic, grippy but well structured, I like the guts and grip here. Smooth ripe authoritative tannins. Good concentration, richness, and finishes right out. A serious dry red. Excellent cellarworthy style.

The 2007 Kalimna Bin 28 Shiraz is a style that never sees any new oak, only older American hogsheads. It has intense warm blackberry and lifted kirsch aromas with some chocolate and black olives. Full-bodied with crisp acid and medium-firm fine tannins, it gives a good concentration of evolving fruit and a long finish. Drinking now, it has the stuffing to cellar to 2019.

93 Points James Halliday
Dark, deep red-purple; in traditional Bin 8 style, stiffened a little by the '07 vintage; the dark fruits on the bouquet and medium- to full-bodied palate run through plum, blackberry, licorice and chocolate; typical tannin and oak management. Drink to 2022.
