Huon Hooke

Medium to full red/purple; very good colour. Rich, ripe dark cherry aromas, spicy and with a tinge of cherry liqueur. Intense and concentrated in mouth with lots of dark fruit flavours, with better fleshiness and more abundant tannins than usual in Hoddle's pinots. Very good wine of concentration and authority. Good length, too.

Light, clear crimson; a superfine and very elegant wine, handled with restraint and respect in the winery; the palate is deceptively long, red fruits, spice and forest floor all intermingling. Drink over the next four+ years. Drink to 2015.
