Huon Hooke
Medium dark red purple. Oaky nose, dense and thick, solid smelling. Coconutty American oak. Slight volatile lift - possibly from alcohol. Edgy. Intense flavour, lively, fresh and shrill, not yet mellowing. Young and oak-driven. Grainy tannins coat the tongue. Needs time and probably should be re-tasted with food.

94 Points James Halliday
Deep colour, good hue; a very powerful, yet controlled wine with none of the uncertainties of ASW; oceans of blackberry and licorice fruit, alcohol the only question as the tannins and oak are well balanced and integrated. Shiraz. Drink to 2026.
