Deep, dark, dense red/purple colour. 'Funky', jammy, ripe to overripe fruit and a touch of reduction. Some savoury earthiness. The palate is rich and deep, smoothly textured and fleshy, with excellent length and flavour. Exceptional density and fleshiness, but also elegance and grace, with no excesses of alcohol, oak, tannin or ripeness. Concentrated and long, long finish. Long term cellaring potential. Drink 2012 - 2025.
