Ranked #16 of 18 2012 Shiraz from Gundagai
86/100
3 Stars
Huon Hooke
Medium to full red colour with a gentle purple tint. Stalky, herbal and briary aromas, a hint of spice, and some earthy notes. The taste is light to medium-weight with drying savoury tannins, and is only moderately well defined. Gritty tannins on the after-palate. Adequate but not fine.

90 Points Robert Parker
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color and offering attractive aromas of warm black plums, blackberries and kirsch with touches of tree bark, black pepper and anise, the medium-bodied 2012 Gundagai Shiraz has an elegantly fruited palate with pleasant spice and herbal notes lifting the lively fruit plus a light grip of tannins to support the flavors. It finishes with very good persistence. Drink it now to 2018+.
