Ranked #31 of 55 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra

Huon Hooke
Deep red/purple colour. Sweet blackberry, raspberry and very subtle peppermint aromas, clean and bright and appealing, and fully ripe. The tannins are fine and measured, smoothly ripe and powdery. Good persistence and balance. A really lovely cabernet.

95 Points James Halliday
No expense has been spared with the Seguin Moreau and Taransaud 'Chateau' barrels that have extra thick staves, but the deep and powerful cassis bouquet yields to the serious, autocratic stance of the cabernet tannins interwoven with blackcurrant, earth and a wisp of chocolate on the long palate. The legendary Reynella cabernet clone certainly makes its mark, the vines at full throttle as they approach their 30th birthday. Drink to 2037.
