Huon Hooke
Deep, dark red colour, with slight purple tinges. The bouquet is intense and oaky, with richness and ripeness, not very cabernet-like, but full of character. Soft, fleshy and round in the mouth, with gentle structure and smooth tannins, it's very deep in flavour and pleasing, and there are some blackberry cabernet flavours on the palate. It is sufficiently varietal: happily, not at all leafy or herbal.

95 Points James Halliday
Deep, bright garnet; an elegant and highly perfumed rendition of this Australian classic, showing pure red fruits, cassis, violets and bath talc; the medium-bodied palate is beautifully detailed, fine-boned and full of silky tannins and seductive fruit; long, expansive subtle and ageworthy. Drink to 2025.
