Ranked #25 of 29 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale
85/100
3 Stars
Huon Hooke
Deep, bright, youthful red colour with a strong tint of purple. The bouquet is grassy, herbal and crushed-leafy, with a strong oak component; the palate is astringent and grippy, with sappy unripe-tasting tannins, which combine with agressive oak to spoil the experience.

94 Points James Halliday
Crushed and destemmed, open-fermented with heading down boards, 2-3 weeks on skins, matured for 18 months in French oak (7% new). A powerful cabernet with pronounced tannins woven throughout the black fruits of the full-bodied palate; has depth and length, and the balance to benefit from extended cellaring. Drink to 2039.
