94 Points Robert Parker
Deep garnet-purple in color and attractively scented of blackcurrant cordial, plum preserves and blueberry coulis with underlying suggestions of chocolate box, cloves, cedar and dried Mediterranean herbs, the palate on the 2010 Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon offers an abundance of taut, muscular fruit structured by firm, grainy tannins and lively acid. It finishes with great length. One for the cellar, it should drink best 2016 to 2025+.

Fermented in French hogsheads, matured in new French oak for 29 months. As with some of the other Penley wines, has a stained cork. Everything is written large with this wine - its label, its bottle, its fruit, oak and tannins. It is apparently trying to out-John Riddoch John Riddoch, but it's far too early to judge its success. Drink to 2042.
