Huon Hooke

Deep red/purple colour. Big, earthy, dry spice aromas, the palate sweet-fruited and lush. A big, voluminous, almost opulent shiraz, with a sweet fruit core and appealing spicy lift on the nose. This has intensity and elegance, and some cool-grown spicy charm, good drive and length. Delicious wine.

Powerhouse red. Rich, meaty, perfumed, lashed with oak, dashed with sweet spice. Adelaide Hills shiraz with the lot. Tannin is fine, infused with coffee, and in control. It's a red to be reckoned with, and it's going to mature - quite gloriously - over a long period. Drink to 2035.
