Huon Hooke
Deepish ruby red colour with a trace of purple lingering. The bouquet is savoury, dried-herbal and earthy, the palate has turned quite savoury and earthy. Dried herb flavours rule, while the tannns are very fine and supple. There is richness and extract, and good length. A slight Campari bitterness lingers, all in balance.

Assured winemaking builds on the clarion clear varietal expression of the fruit, red berries doing much of the heavy lifting; the fragrant, scented bouquet, with a wreath of spice, leads into a supple, perfectly balanced and proportioned palate, the silky superfine tannins providing a 10-year future. Drink to 2024.
