87 Points James Halliday
Hand-picked fruit from a selection of estate vineyards in a warm, dry vintage with cold nights and sunny days. Whole-berry and 20% whole-bunch fermentation (wild initially); hand plunged, pumped over and basket pressed before mlf and 9 months' maturation in 25% new French oak puncheons and barriques. Spicy, savoury, sophisticated pinot. Dark berry fruits, beetroot and brambles are framed in roast nut oak, finely textured tannins and gentle, bright acidity. It loses momentum and life on the finish. Drink to 2022.
