Dense, dark purple colour. Clove-led spices and black fruits - imposing aromatics. Less robust when sipped, red fruits running on the edge of black licorice and dark Asian spices. The finish is short

As for the '16 version, the homage via winemaking box and dice, the ‘15 version doing 17 months in new oak followed by 6 months in used. The oak impact seemingly lower but consistently strong and its sits within a fleshier, riper body for fruit. Tannins are fine emery, the wine moving towards a mature harmony. Drink to 2035.
