Huon Hooke
Medium to full red/purple colour. Very animal nose: dirty drains. Lean palate without richness or fruit sweetness, and the grubby sulfidic flavours take over. Finish fades fast.

A savoury and textural Massale, and though it will never go down as one of the greats, it is well handled for a difficult season. A shameless celebration of the restrained and savoury character of the vintage in notes of beetroot, bracken, forest floor, pink pepper, savoury herbs and freshly tilled earth, finishing elegantly textural. Drink to 2014.
