Huon Hooke
Light yellow hue and a shy, fresh youthful bouquet of dry straw, lightly-toasted nuts and toasted bread. The palate is dry and soft, smooth and clean, with impeccable balance. Lots of meringue-like flavour. The wine is very drinkable and treads a good path between young and fruit-driven and a more savoury kind of Champagne. (68% pinot noir, 32% chardonnay from Ambonnay; 38% reserve wines. Three years on tirage)

Bernard Brémont captures the poise and power of Ambonnay in a style that contrasts pear and apple fruit with the roast hazelnut complexity of bottle age. Acidity and dosage meld in a harmonious finish, energised by the fine chalk minerality of the village, with just a touch of phenolic grip closing.
