Medium-deep red-purple. Herbal, vegetable and borderline dead-fruit aromas. Tannins are grating and gritty. Not a wine of elegance. Quite oaky, too. Acid and tannin create a rasping texture. Needs time? A leaner, lighter style than expected from this maker, but not bad.
