Huon Hooke
Deep, bright red colour with very little browning; all-round fresh and vibrant. Intense and complex bouquet of dark fruits, 'roasting pan' aromas and cigarbox hints, with no remnants of American oak, and the tannins quite soft and easy on the tongue. A beautifully mature, mellow cabernet of spot-on ripeness, delicious flavour and character. A much better bottle than at the last Rewards of Patience. (From my cellar)

Very deep garnet in color, the nose is intensely scented with aromas of dried cherries and blackcurrant cordial over a pleasantly meaty / earthy undercurrent plus whiffs of menthol and dried lavender. Concentrated in the medium to full bodied mouth, it has a good amount of enlivening acid cutting through the dense, evolved fruit with a high level of approachable / softening tannins and long finish.Source: Robert Parker (In Asia) January, 2012 by Lisa Perrotti-Brown
