Bacon fat and raspberry crushed-leaf cabbish nuances too. Red fruits rather than black. A bit lean and pinched

Medium red-purple; a moderately intense, clean bouquet has a range of savoury blackberry fruit aromas supported by the typically subtle oak. An elegant, medium-bodied palate with chocolate/savoury/berry flavours, the oak balanced and integrated, the tannins correct. Not the least bit flashy; in a curious way, a wholly appropriate 40th anniversary wine. Drink to 2014.
