Huon Hooke
Sensational! Intense, elegant, beautifully proportioned. Quite complex, too, with some 'crushed ant' and roasting pan juice aromas. Some vestiges of coconut from American oak still just perceptible.
Tasted: 14/01/2013
Drink: 2013 to 2013
88 Points James Halliday
Medium to full red-purple; an unusually complex array of aromas with some floral/scented overtones and then more traditional and firmer earthy/blackberry/bitter chocolate characters. The palate is firm, almost austere in the context of the Henschke style, with fine tannins and underplayed oak. Drink to 2010.
