Cool climate Shiraz with strong spicy, peppery flavours adding complexity to a foundation of ripe berry and plum. Youthful but with some bottle development emerging.

A classic from Victoria, the dense ruby/purple-hued 2000 Shiraz Langi possesses medium to full body, loads of structure, good ripeness, and hints of blueberries, blackberries, and earth bound in a tightly wound, medium to full-bodied, tannic, chalky style. A bit austere and backward, it needs 2-3 years of cellaring, and should last for 10-15 years.

91 Points James Halliday
Medium red-purple; perfumed cherry, raspberry and, plum aromas are the drivers of the elegant palate; raspberry, a touch of chocolate and fine, ripe tannins are all there. Less substantial than the '99 and will be ready sooner. Drink to 2010.

92 Points The Innocent Dingo
Medium bodied with nice balance, this is a stylish drop that will please those looking for some relief from a heavier Barossa style shiraz. I suspect this is in an ideal drinking window with the fruit having not lost its freshness but with some more interesting secondary characteristics revealing themselves on the palate. Soft pepper, black fruits and and some grampians menthol make for an moreish drink that is very food friendly and should appeal to most. Drink Now
