Green leafy aromas plus coffee mocha oak. The palate is rather hard and astringent; there's a thread of greenness throughout this wine. Slightly tough finish. Very concentrated cassis flavour, though. It's just a touch straightforward and firm. It does have a lot of good fruit, and is very youthful - needs more time, and I'd like to see how it ages.

The label says "Mamre Brook wines are a tribute to the Barossa". A true statement. This wine is as much about the Barossa as it is about Cabernet. Popped and poured, ready to go. Great fun to drink. Some wines are enjoyable for their intrigue or class, this one just invites you to smile, and pour another glass. Full bodied. Lovely ripe blackberry and mulberry, chocolate, with a healthy amount of tannin, leading to a good length finish. Drink in the next 1 to 5 years
