"The last of the Penfolds Bins to put out and this one has a tin lid! Yay. They have been an excellent set of wines with the controversial Bin 407 probably being my favourite.
Aromas of blueberry coulis, blackberry, raspberry, pepper, spice, licorice and meaty savoury overtones. Quite jammy, juicy and fresh. On the palate sweet blackberry, blueberry and more spicy peppery flavours present themselves. Quite meaty too although the overall impression is that of slightly jammy sweet fruit. The tannins are firm and dry and offer a good degree of grip. Finishes with blue fruit and black olive flavours. I like it but at the moment this looks pretty simple. Easy to glug down now but I think there is some improvement to be had by leaving it alone for at least another year….."
