Huon Hooke
Brown-tinged, forward developed colour. Dusty earthy toasty nose, touch of charcuterie and barbecued meats. Earthy, dusty, dried-out, harsh tannins. Richer palate flavours, ultra-ripe with some sweetness, but the tannins are astringent and overly drying. Later, after prlonged airing, a good drink, smooth and mellow but really, not good value at this price.

91 Points James Halliday
Silky texture and sweet cabernet fruit, but submerged in oak after 38 months in new French and American barrels; 12 months less surely would have made a better and less expensive wine. Drink to 2015.
