Huon Hooke
Good colour, still has a purple rim. Very complex aged toasty crushed-ants bouquet, has seen a lot of oak and is now building smoked-oyster character. Lovely wine: rich and fleshy, smooth and deep, plushy and has complex, multi-layered flavours. Smells - and tastes - like a very good Penfolds red. Rich, fleshy sumptuous wine, superb. Now to 20+ years. Excellent! Towers above most of its peers.

94 Points James Halliday
A clean, elegant, medium-bodied wine; supple red and black fruits with a touch of regional chocolate, and fine tannins; 23 months in French and American oak, which still intrudes a little. Winner Jimmy Watson '06. Drink to 2009.
