Huon Hooke
Medium to full brick-red colour with a tawny rim. The wine is showing a lot of age, as it should, with a toffee, caramel bouquet, herbaceous and raspberry fruit aromas buried within the aged characters. Cedar and tobacco cigarbox. It's clean and very mellow, with attractive aged flavours, and good balance. There's no excess of acidity which sometimes appears in these wines, and the wine is appealing in a medium-bodied, elegantly weighted classic Coonawarra style. It's not a wine of density or great extract, but is a very good example of aged Coonawarra cabernet. A lovely drink.

93 Points James Halliday
Dark red; concentrated, ripe briary fruit and oak with hints of chocolate. In the mouth, powerful and concentrated with strong berry fruit, well-handled French oak, and ample tannins to support the wine as it ages. Drink to 2002.
