Huon Hooke
Medium full red, some purple. Licorice aniseed, ironstone nose; earthy too. Palate is medium bodied and a little short, but pleasantly agreeable, rather than exciting. Fairly evident tannin on finish, light but well-balanced with a drying effect.

91 Points James Halliday
Deep, bright colour; a generous wine, with a rich bouquet and fleshy palate offering licorice, black cherry and blackberry fruit, the influence of the viognier somewhat muted, but a bargain at the price. Drink to 2019.
