Ranked #7 of 46 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra
93/100
4.5 Stars
Huon Hooke
Deep red, slight purple tinge. The colour is substantially more evolved than the 2010. Minty aroma, intense and bright, with some bright acidity showing on the palate which firms up the structure a bit. Indeed, the acidity is a trifle out of balance.

91.5 Points Robert Parker
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Bin 169 Cabernet Sauvignon presents an intensely minty nose with undertones of ripe cassis, eucalyptus, cedar and a touch of herbs. Ripe and expressive in the mouth it has bright acid and medium levels of very fine tannins, it finishes concentrated and long. Drink it from 2014 to 2024+.

93 Points James Halliday
Deeply coloured and dark and brooding in nature, with mulberry and cassis fruit, charry oak and cedar on display; the palate is densely packed with tannins and opulent fruit, with the brooding nature of the vintage remaining on the finish; this wine will always be big boned and dark, a direct contrast to the '10. Drink to 2030.
