Huon Hooke
Deep red colour, faint brick-red rim. Shy, subdued nose, some roast meat and 'crushed ant' aromas, starting to show some development. The palate is drying, savoury and rather tannic, but not overly endowed with fruit or sweetness. A touch unbalanced. Developing flavours with a little blackstrap licorice. Grippy finish. Not a good Stonewell.
