Huon Hooke
Deep, bright red/purple colour. Black fruits and some sweatiness on the nose, certainly the fruit is good and ripe. It's medium-bodied and quite smooth on the palate, surprisingly accessible for such a youngster, with light but firm tannins and good balance. There's enough grip to give it a decent backbone. Good length and poise: an elegant cabernet style.

Of a vibrant, medium depth garnet-purple color, the 2012 Cabernet Merlot gives aromas of red currants, black cherries and mulberries with hints of baking spices, dried Mediterranean herbs and underbrush. Medium-bodied with mouth-filling red and black fruit flavors, it is well structured with a medium to firm level of chewy tannins and lively acid, finishing long and herbal-laced.
