95 Points Tyson Stelzer
A classic Pol Roger vintage, without quite the theatrics of 2002, with an effortless purity reminiscent of 1999, and an inherent energy and drive all of its own. There is a calm refinement to 2004, expressed impeccably in almond blossom, fresh lemon, white peach and hints of grapefruit. The slow-motion ageing of Pol Roger’s cold cellars is particularly evident in this youthful vintage, only beginning to reveal subtle almond nougat complexity. Its acid line is pristine, underscoring pronounced chalk mineral structure. Another great vintage in the distinguished lineage of Pol Roger.
