96 Points Robert Parker
Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Attunga Shiraz is a little reduced to begin, giving way to restrained notes of cassis cordial and blackberry preserves over hints of yeast extract, tar, licorice and prunes. Full bodied and with taut, muscular fruit, it has a good line of crisp, refreshing acid and a firm level of finely grained tannins, finishing long and pure. Still youthfully backward, it should drink best 2014 to 2024+.

95 Points James Halliday
As the name suggests, the vines were planted in 1865, very early in the history of the Clare Valley; the crimson-purple colour is excellent, and the wine cries out for 20 years in bottle, for while the fruit is intense, there is a ghetto blast of oak. Drink to 2050.
