Deep red-purple colour; the bouquet is powerfully spicy and earthy with dark-plum fruit welded to smoky, toasty barrel nuances and good richness, the tannins quite assertive although the wine is not especially big. A more elegant rendition of this Bin number. The oak is well harmonised and the tannins are smooth and ripe and seamless. Very long aftertaste. This is a very stylish Bin 150.

Very deep purple black in color, the 2012 Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz is profoundly scented of blackcurrant cordial, black forest cake and smoky bacon along with some earthiness. Medium-bodied and quite packed with flavor, it has medium to firm grainy tannins and shows a slight menthol lift in finish.

A relatively recent addition to the Bin range, one that has always appealed to me. Full crimson-purple; the fragrant bouquet sends multiple, if not downright mixed, messages of red berries, spices and smoky oak; the vibrant palate is led by juicy, sweet fruit, before spicy oak and superfine tannins add their weight to the length and finish. An altogether superior wine. Drink to 2042.
