The 1996 Terra Rossa First Growth (1,500 cases made from a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot) reveals an opaque purple color, as well as a superb, expressive aromatic profile with the aforementioned scents, huge, fat, full-bodied flavors that coat the palate, low acidity, sweet tannin, and a sensationally long finish. This spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon has few Australian rivals for richness and complexity. It should continue to drink well for 10-15 years.
